We offer a wide range of instrumental private classes. Private lessons cultivate each student’s techniques of instrumental playing and nurture each individual’s musicianship. At the end of our Spring and Fall semester, we celebrated our progress with the bi-annual recital. Students will perform confidently on stage!
This class will introduce students to the basics of the drum kit and have them playing along to some of their favorite songs by the end of the first lesson. As lessons proceed, students will learn the more intricate details of syncopation, coordination, groove, playing music with others, technique, reading, theory, history of the instrument, and more!
This class will focus on important musical skills: playing as a section, blending, phrasing, time feel, soloing, comping, improvisation, in addition to working on a weak point for many guitarists, sight-reading.
Students will leave the class with a stronger understanding of the jazz language and therefore with more confidence as they participate in musical conversations.
