To visit one of the most creative and compelling exhibitions of art, design, decorative art, and material culture in New York City, walk ten blocks north of the Met, cross the street, and enter the Jewish Museum at 1109 Fifth Avenue. Once there, ascend the elevator to the museum’s permeant exhibition Scenes from the Collection. This exhibition weaves, through the conceit of thematic scenes, centuries of Jewish art, design, culture, and history. The curation, always thoughtful and often playful, invites reflection on not only the past, but also the present and the future—of Jewish faith and culture, of New York City, and of the wider world.
