What you'll learn in this kids art class:
Want to spend time with unicorns, jewels, tombs, and all things medieval? Ever look at a painting and find yourself spinning an epic story behind it? If that’s you, join us for Poetry at The Met Cloisters!
In this extra-special workshop, we’ll be creating our own ekphrastic poetry. Ekphrastic means “description” in Greek, so our ekphrastic poetry will be vivid descriptions of paintings, statues, tapestries, and other works of art at this iconic museum. Every week we’ll make our way through the park to The Met Cloisters, taking in our surroundings, sketching, looking closely at art, and expressing all it sparks in our imaginations through writing. The class will end with an exciting, never-before-done reading at The Met Cloisters!
This workshop is four two-hour classes. We’ll be walking to the museum so please dress warmly and wear comfortable shoes!
This workshop is being offered in collaboration with The Met Cloisters.
Refund Policy
Refund is allowed; 90% refund up to the first class. If student does not like the class, they may transfer to another class if space is available. Refund after the second class will be 50% based on a pro-rated basis, decreasing by 10% with consecutive classes.
