Paul McAleer

Paul McAleer is a designer, information architect, and fan of awesome things.

Paul has 33 years of experience in technology and design. Paul's initial focus in developing high-quality websites uncovered a passion for creating thoughtful interfaces and, later still, defining holistic strategies and experiences for people, non-profits, and companies. Paul built the UX practice at Gogo, and has helped other organizations plan and staff for effective design work. Paul's clients include Orbitz, Expedia, UnitedHealthcare, and Stanford Hospital & Clinics.

In his current work, Paul uses design as a tool to make things simpler for people. Paul is an Associate Experience Director at Rightpoint, where Paul creates apps, websites, and strategies that keep users' needs at their centers. Paul's work at Rightpoint includes deep user research, roadmaps, prototypes, and facilitating collaborative workshops with clients.

A noted writer, speaker, and photographer, Paul's speaking engagements include repeat performances at SXSW Interactive and WebVisions. Paul also spoke at CreativeMornings Denver, the inaugural UX STRAT conference, and World IA Day Chicago. Paul's writing has been published in UX Matters, and Paul's photography was featured in the book Communicating with Pattern: Stripes. Paul is currently writing a book.

A Chicago native, Paul lives with family in beautiful Denver, Colorado and is an advocate for tacos.
