What you'll learn in this chinese cooking class:

The dishes themselves are vegetarian and all classes are extremely easy to make and designed for beginners. Can be modified for any particular diet.

All supplies and materials are included. Each week is different!

Mini Chinese Crepes (Wet Batter) - 3 ways

Learn a versatile take on a Chinese Grandma's old tradition with your own creation station

Chinese "Salads"

Delicious cold dishes equivalent to a Chinese salad - learn a simple and delicious Black Vinegar Garlic Cucumber Salad, Sweet and Sour Daikon, and Sesame Scallion Tofu Salad.

Toasted Sesame and Shanghai Baby Bokchoy Pan Fried Dumplings

You'll learn how to make this completely from scratch in its original form from wrapper to filling to pan frying in this hands-on beginner's class.

Street Herbs through a Chinese Lens: Vegan Noodle

Learn easy noodle styles from two different parts of Northern China and cultural knowledge of both in this Vegan noodle class that will surely be delicious.

Your class will be conveniently located close to the Berwyn Red Line and many buses. Street parking is available usually west of Broadway.

School Notes:
Providing dietary and allergy information applicable to any classes. Wearing appropriate clothing for the activity such as no open toe shoes for cooking and clothes you wouldn't find getting a little dirty for certain art classes.

100% of any tips made to your instructor go straight to him/her and are completely optional. Class sizes are small so they are extra fun and attentive

Refund Policy

Cancellations

If SC cancels a class due to low enrollment or other extenuating circumstances, all participants will be notified to arrange for a credit towards another class.

If you cancel less than 5 calendar days before your scheduled class, SC may not issue any class credit or transfer.

No Show Policy

Instructors are allowed to leave and cancel class after 30 minutes of no students within the teaching space and after this point, there are no refunds.

Sending a Friend in Your Place

You may send a friend in your place in any such circumstance, but it is your responsibility to inform your friend policies applicable to them. This is because we allow you to send someone last minute.

Rescheduling

If you need to reschedule your class(es), there is a strict 3 time policy. This means we will not reschedule you after missing 3 classes. Reschedules are only for the same class(es) initially paid for. 24-hour minimum notice is required for any rescheduling due to the nature of how we both prepare for and book for the rent of the class space. We cannot refund after 24 hours leading up to the class time.

SC cannot provide refunds, credits, or class transfers for classes missed as a result of illness, job loss, personal emergencies or events beyond our control. In general, Seeds Center does not provide any refunds.

Dong was a great teacher! Personable, funny, and very knowledgable. She has a great story that I'd love to learn more about! Great beginner class for people who don't know anything about dumpling making.

Loved it! The title holds true...its like cooking with Grandma. The instructor was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot. Will definitely sign up for more classes in the series.

Dong Chen is a wonderful teacher. She’s an engaging speaker who has led a really fascinating life. The class was fun, informative, and appropriate for all levels of skill. I’m a relatively experienced cook, but I still walked away with some new techniques and ideas for cooking. You should take this class!
