Learn plant id skills and basic botanical terminology to key out a plant or tree using field guides and have the language to describe what you’re observing. Plant specimens will be available to practice your new skills under the guidance of an experienced instructor.
Required Materials:
Please bring a lupe (8x) magnifying glass, or something similar and books to identify trees and wildflowers. Pat recommends The Master Tree Finder and Flower Finder by May Theilgaard Watts and will use these in class.
This class is a prerequisite for people planning to take the Edible Wild Plants and Bioregional Herbalism Certificate courses, unless excused by instructor.
A full refund less a 5% non refundable registration fee will be given for any classes that the school cancels.
If you have registered for the class, do not show up, and do not communicate your absence prior to the class, then you will be charged the full class fee. Instructors are compensated for teaching so it is important that we respect their preparation and teaching time.

We are located on The Conservation Foundation's McDonald Farm in south Naperville. There is a long driveway on the north side of Knoch Knolls Road a 1/2 mile from Ring Road. Entrance to the parking area is to the right of the driveway just before the driveway circles.
