What you'll learn in this bls class:

This AHA BLS Provider course is a video-based, Instructor-led course, that teaches both single-rescuer and team, basic life support skills for application in both in-facility and prehospital settings. This course is for renewing, recertifying, or initial students.

Who Should Take This Course?
This course is for healthcare providers such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, physician’s assistants, residents or fellows, aides, medical or nursing assistants, police officers, and other allied health personnel. Medical or nursing students in training may also require BLS certification.

Course Content

  • Critical concepts of high-quality CPR
  • The American Heart Association Chain of Survival
  • Importance of early use of an AED(, as well as how and when to implement an AED while performing high-quality CPR)
  • 1 and 2 rescuer and team CPR and AED for adult child and infant
  • Differences between adult, child and infant rescue techniques
  • Bag-mask techniques for adult, child and infant
  • Rescue breathing for adult, child and infant
  • Relief of choking for adult, child and infant
  • CPR with an advanced airway

The AHA BLS course does not include first aid topics such as treatment for bleeding, burns or broken bones. So, if you’re a healthcare provider that requires first-aid certification, you’ll need to take both the AHA BLS course and a First Aid course.

Required Student Materials

Course Format and Exam: Part 1 = 1.75 hours Students complete the eLearning portion of the BLS class prior to attending the skills session. Part 2 = 1- 2 hours Students attend an in-person skills practice and testing session.

Required: Part 1 will be included with your purchase. You must be complete Part 1, the eLearning course, before attending Part 2, the skills session. Email your Online Certificate to [email protected]. At the class, simply show your instructor a digital copy from your phone/personal device.

Continuing Education Credits 

Students MUST begin the process to claim credits for an instructor led, all in person BLS class, within 60 days of their course- no later. The number of credits depends on the profession and the accrediting body who is going to evaluate, examine and finally determine the number of credits awarded. After a BLS Class, submit a request for credits by emailing the school. Once your request is received, Citywide CPR will submit your roster to the AHA so they can have proof you attended the class. Shortly after, you will receive a form to complete and send in to your accrediting organization.The AHA offers continuing medical education (CME) or continuing education (CE) credits for some of its CPR and ECC courses, and CME/CE may also be offered for live events.

Certification Card Students receive the American Heart Association BLS Provider eCard, valid for two years. AHA cards will be processed as eCards and are always received within 48 hours of a scheduled course.

Refund Policy

Cancellation

If you must cancel your registration for any reason please contact us via email, [email protected] with your request and explanation.

  • Cancellations requested more than 4 business days prior to a scheduled class may receive a refund, less a $5.00 administrative fee.
  • We will not issue refunds for cancellations within 4 business days of the scheduled class or for missed classes. In these cases, you forfeit your payment, or may pay the $20.00 rescheduling fee to attend a scheduled class on a different date.
  • Online courses, keycodes and URLs assigned to a student are non-refundable, non-returnable and non-transferrable.

Rescheduling

If you registered and paid for a class, but can’t make that particular date or time, you may reschedule. Requests must be made in writing, emailed to [email protected], for our documentation purposes.

  • If you reschedule within 4 business days of your scheduled class, or after a missed class, a $20.00 rescheduling fee applies.

No-Show

If a registered student does not show up to their scheduled class and has not rescheduled, they are considered a no-show and forfeit the complete paid registration fee.

  • No-show students may reschedule for a different date, and will be responsible for the $20.00 rescheduling fee.
  • Special exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis due to emergencies and other circumstances.

Low Enrollment and/or Emergency Cancellation

The school reserves the right to cancel classes at anytime, due to low enrollment and/or any unforeseen events, such as an emergency that’s due to severe weather, instructor illness/injury, family emergencies etc… In those unlikely events, we will make every attempt to contact you. Participants in these courses will receive priority enrollment in the next available class, and be given the option to reschedule or receive a full refund less a 5% non-refundable registration fee.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
