Shannon was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She graduated from Howard University (Washington, D.C.) and received additional dance training with Debbie Allen Dance Academy, Ronald K. Brown/Evidence, Dallas Black Dance Theatre, and Jacob's Pillow Jazz/Musical Theatre Program. Shannon is on faculty at the Lou Conte Dance Studio, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago Youth Program, and Mindful Practices.
