David Sharkey

Teaches at New York Botanical Garden

Dave Sharkey spent a career traveling the USA and abroad sourcing plants for his clients and the clients of his company, McHutchison Horticultural Suppliers. He works with growers of nursery stock, perennials and annuals and ships to Garden Centers, Nurseries, Landscapers, for wholesale and retail sales.
Part of the excitement of being a Horticultural Broker is developing relationships with the growers and taking the plants from a liner to finished plant ready for sale.

Dave worked in nurseries, greenhouses, garden centers, and taught Horticulture in high school. He is currently the Shade Tree Commissioner for Mendham, NJ. He is a Licensed Tree Expert and a Certified Landscape and Nursery Professional in NJ. He is also a part of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society's Committee for selecting Gold Medal Plants.
