Teaches at Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art

Carl Dobsky began his artistic studies in 1997 at the Ringling School of Art and Design where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Illustration. He then went to New York City to further study representational painting and traditional techniques. After studying in New York, Mr. Dobsky worked as a concept artist for MassiveBlack. In 2007, he founded an atelier with MassiveBlack. Due to the atelier’s success he then left the company to become the primary instructor and director of the Safehouse Atelier where he established a curriculum that emphasized the training of both Illustration and Traditional Painting.
Mr. Dobsky has also exhibited his paintings in galleries both nationally and internationally. His paintings and drawings are featured in collections throughout the US. He is currently represented by the John Pence gallery in San Francisco. In 2013, Mr. Dobsky moved to Los Angeles, California where he currently resides.
