For programs that meet fewer than 3 times: during the costs and booking commitments associated with one or two-shoot programs, the school regrets that they cannot offer any school's credit for programs, classes, or events that meet fewer than three times per programming season. Additionally, the school cannot be responsible for providing make-ups or issuing any credit for programs missed as a result of personal scheduling conflicts, illness, emergencies, or other circumstances beyond their control.

For programs that meet 3+ times: students may receive school's credit for withdrawal from a program when their cancellation request conforms to the timetable outlined below. There is a $15 processing fee for all transfers and cancellations. 50% school credit will be granted for withdrawal from a school program when a written request is received before the second class. After the second class, JCC credit cannot be granted. (however, students may transfer from one class to another of equal or lesser value if there is space availability and with the program director's approval.) All cancellation request must be submitted to CourseHorse at [email protected] Please allow three to four weeks for processing of your cancellation request and be mindful of the timetable described above.

Question from Anonymous
If I want to buy materials ahead of time, which vendors would you recommend I get beads and wires and tools from?
Answer from Georgia C. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi there! The school strongly advise against students purchasing materials before the first class because the supplies they will need depends on the type of project the student wants to work on and also is easy to buy the wrong materials without the correct information. For beginner students, the school offers a beading toolkit for $50. This includes all of the tools they will need for the class.

Question from Laura R.
Do you only use wire or threads and French wire too? Elastic?
Answer from Kristle C. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi Laura, The instructor can touch on how to use stretchy cord and have a brief discussion, but it is not one of the projects. He/she can guide the student on how to work on their own for that kind of beading. French wire is sometimes used and if students want to learn that, he/she will incorporate its use in class. A type of wire is used and the generic term is tiger tail. The brand is Beadalon. The finishing technique is crimping using crimp tubes or beads and a crimping tool.

This class was life-changing for me, a lawyer who thought she did not have a creative bone in her body. The teacher was AWESOME. I learned techniques to make jewelry in a non-judgmental and supportive environment. I learned that maybe I do have a creative bone in my body! Maybe more than one!
