What you'll learn in this japanese cooking class:

Escape to the streets of Tokyo as we create this infamous classic dish, Japanese Ramen! This class is perfect for anyone who enjoys Asian flavors and wants to learn more about how to recreate these flavors and techniques at home!

In this fun, hands-on class, you will be guided step-by-step in recreating this popular noodle soup dish, renowned for its rich broth, abundance of noodles and endless toppings! You will firstly be trained in some foundational knife skills used to chop all of your fresh ingredients. You will then learn how to balance flavors to create your Ramen broth and the addition of various vegetables. You will have the choice to make a Tori-Kara Black Ramen with chicken broth, breaded & fried chicken, and vegetables or Veggie Ramen using a veggie broth and stir fried vegetables.

Guests will get to make their own Ramen noodles from scratch! Practice your pasta making skills with a Japanese twist. Cook your noodles and add all the extras that make this deliciously authentic dish! Once you have created your Ramen sensations, you can have fun customizing your bowl with a variety of traditional garnishes and toppings before enjoying your creation with your new found foodie friends!

We had an absolutely amazing time in the ramen making class. Everything was explained in a way that will make it easy for me to repeat this recipe at home. I look forward to experimenting with my new ramen making skills. Thank you Cynthia!

Didn’t really learn anything. We made pasta from scratch but everything else was pre made and it felt more like assembly than preparation/cooking. Also very difficult to see instructor - overall class felt unorganized and it only lasted about 30-45 minutes. Remainder of time was spent eating and mingling. Additionally they provided one bowl and one set of noodles per pair so it felt more conducive for dates.

This class was a disappointment, the "room" was uncomfortable, the tables were small, no space to move around! We learned nothing about ramen, we just did the noodles and the rest was just like a buffet. The only thing nice about the class was the couple sitting next to us, the rest It would have been better just to go out to have ramen at a restaurant in the city.

We had a very good experience, everyone was so nice and friendly, the staff was helpful and made the experience a good one. The class was also informative. I am looking forward to making my own ramen at home.

Chef Ed was an amazing teacher! He was funny and entertaining, but also very thorough explaining all the steps to make a delicious bowl of ramen. This was me and my husband's first CoCu Social class and we can't wait to take another cooking class again. We really enjoyed making our own pasta and getting our hands dirty in the process. We left the class with a strong understanding of how to make ramen and full bellies for the rest of the day. Thank you Chef Ed and your wonderful assistants for the amazing experience. We will see you at our next class :)

If you're afraid to make noodles from scratch, this class will help you get over that. Otherwise I'm sorry to say there wasn't much actual cooking to be done - which was somewhat understandable, since the class took place in a hotel bar. The instructor was very kind and good natured, although not a teacher or a chef. I am truly sorry if this reflects negatively on him or his assistants (his daughters). They obviously did their best, and hopefully there were other people in the group who learned something. Other than making the noodles, we didn't get to cook or even prepare any other components. Overall, my companion and I were pretty bored and felt like we should've just gone to a ramen spot for a better meal.
