Cooking (Ages 2 - 5 y/o)

This cooking class is for children preschool age. Cooking includes lots of sensory play (think bins of cornstarch, flour, cornmeal, or whatever we happen to be working with that day) where we encourage children to touch, feel and squish to their hearts content. These classes are 'hands-on' as we work with children on chopping, mixing, combining, and introduce kitchen tools like whisk, spatula, blender, and mixer. 

Classes will cover cooking safety and children will be encouraged to get messy. After a short period of simple free play and discussion of the tools and ingredients of the day, children will complete a simple baking or cooking project (sometimes savory, sometimes sweet!). 

Children will be happy to taste their own creations (we never premake projects; each child will receive whatever it is they actually created) and the amazing cause and effect relationship of cooking will be sure to impress them. 

Notes: 

Let us know well ahead of your first class if your child has any allergies or food restrictions (vegetarian, religious restrictions, etc). Our recipes are nut/seed free. 

There will be $5 surcharge added cover the cost of food used in class.
