What you'll learn in this kids programming class:

In this beginner workshop, students will be introduced to the online coding platform, Scratch. Scratch is a free, block-based programming tool developed by MIT. It's ideal for beginners to learn to code. Students "snap" together blocks of commands that the computer can carry out. Using this platform, students will learn how to create a two-player racing game in which users control movement with the keyboard.

Students will also learn how to create platform games where they will program a player character to move and jump across platforms. Students will receive informative materials to take home so they may continue their game design exploration!

PREREQUISITES: Students should have some knowledge of programming, but it is not required.
