In this special edition of her popular self-care class, herbalist, food entrepreneur, birth and postpartum doula, Laena McCarthy, will discuss the menstrual cycle, fertility awareness method (FAM), diet and lifestyle choices for hormonal health, and the effects of long term hormonal birth control.
The class will begin with an overview of what healthy, balancing self-care rituals look like, then delve into cycle tracking, fertility awareness, and having a real conversation with your body to understand your cycle and balance hormones, while harnessing healing traditions and practices to boost the female body's natural resilience and protect from stress and damage. We’ll cover how a plant-based diet, herbs, mindfulness, and massage can break patterns of stress and hormonal imbalance.
The last 30 minutes of class, we’ll learn a simple exercises, abdominal massage, stretching and breath work that can work wonders for improving hormonal balance, menstrual pain, PCOS, or irregularity, increase mental health, and prevent damage from stress and exhaustion.
Participants will learn about resources for fertility support, like herbs, oils and ingredients, cycle tracking, and will take home there own Basal body thermometer and guide Laena's created with recipes for a healthy plant-based diet, cycle tracking, massage, and mindfulness exercises covered in the class, as well as a greater understanding of how to enhance their daily self care rituals, empowering them to take their physical, emotional and reproductive health into their own hands.
If you're looking for a refund, you need to back out of the class a week before it starts. We know it's draconian, but since we're not charging a million bucks, it's kinda hard to deal with last-minute bailings. Instead of dropping out if you have a schedule conflict, a better idea is to ask around your friends and see if anyone would take your spot, then just get money from them! We also can't switch you between class sessions or give any sort of refund after the class happens.
