What you'll learn in this acting class:
If you're just stepping into the world of acting, welcome! In this 7-week class, Broadway actor Quentin Earl Darrington will help you build a toolbox of the fundamentals so that you can feel confident and connected on stage.
This class might be for you if you are:
This class might be for you if you are:
- New to acting and want to get down to basics.
- A writer or director who wants to deepen their craft by getting a better understanding of the actor’s experience.
- An artist of any kind boldly crossing the line from one discipline to another and ready to get on stage!
- Build a toolbox of the fundamentals, including what it means to read a play from the perspective of an actor and how to create a character.
- Use acting warm-ups and exercises to understand how to use your voice and body to communicate on stage.
- Learn the basics of how to really listen to your scene partners and respond in the moment.
- Begin approaching monologues and scenes from a variety of material that will help you understand how to connect yourself to the character you’re playing.
- Have a strong grasp on acting for the stage, armed with the confidence you need to declare yourself an actor and start auditioning.
- Be ready for The Contemporary Monologue and eligible for consideration for our Scene Study classes.
Refund Policy
- If a student withdraws from a class prior to 11 business days before the class' start date, the $50 deposit will act as a cancellation fee.
- If a student withdraws from a class within the 7-11 business days prior to the class' start date, the student is required to pay 50% of the tuition.
- If a student withdraws from a class on or after 6 business days prior to the class' start date, the student is required to pay 100% of the tuition.
