This is a 10 week group violin class semester suitable for beginners who have completed one of NYC Violin Studio’s Beginner classes, or who have played violin in the past and still remember the basics as listed below. This semester culminates in a concert, twice a year, where pieces will be performed for friends and family.
Students enrolling in this class should feel comfortable playing 2-3 scales, reading some accidentals, executing more than one bowing technique (including slurs), knows how to use the 4th finger, may have started learning double stops. This semester, Late Beginner students will learn every single note on the violin (or viola), will learn the C Major, G Major, F Major and 2-octave D Major scale, which will include shifting into a higher position, and playing a little something in each of these keys! This is a whole new level of playing, and very exiting!
What you’ll need: A violin, clipped nails, a webcam and mic. We’ll provide the rest including PDFs and online videos to play along to!
