What you'll learn in this storytelling class:

Storytelling for Business People: Presentations to Elevator Pitches

Not all pitches are created equal. You may think you’ve got a unique product, service or business idea but if you can’t tell a compelling story, your message will get lost in translation. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to use stories and narrative techniques to capture the attention and interest of your audience.

In this online webinar, you'll gain knowledge of the different types of stories in business before delving into techniques for becoming a more confident presenter. We'll end the session with a pitching exercise that will give you the opportunity to put your newfound storytelling skills into practice on a real world business problem. By the end of the webinar, you’ll have a polished pitch and a set of tools for getting people excited about your business.

Hi, class was canceled due to low enrollment. The instructor was great about reaching out in advance to offer me options and find something I wanted to do instead. I felt very well taken care of given the circumstances. Thank you!

The class was very interactive, and just what I needed in order to get started again. Thank you very much! It could, of course, have been better. But mostly because there always is room for improvement.

This class gave a good overview of the nuances of storytelling. The exercises reinforced how important it is to be in the moment, stay authentic, and share stories purposefully. I would recommend the class.

The instructor wouldn't allow you to take photos of the presentation slides or send the deck electronically which is bizarre since the class was paid for and usually you get to keep the content from which you've learned (the content itself isn't groundbreaking so there's no copyright/plagiarism to even be worried about). The instructor also told us to keep our phones out of sight which I understand, but we're all adults. We should be able to check our phones as there are no clocks in the space we were in and the session was quite long. The instructor went 20-30 minutes over the time the class was supposed to end which was inconsiderate. All in all, the actual lecture was alright (again nothing groundbreaking) but it could have easily been consolidated to a 1 hour course and priced at half the rate and administered more professionally.

Andrew was smart, funny, energetic and accommodating. I learned a lot and reframed my idea pitching. He packed a lot of information into a few hours and offered a short free follow up, which gives you time to digest the information. Great experience!

Unlike most such presentations, that try to jam in too much in a short time, the instructor completed his presentation (on time). Nice combination of instruction and demonstration (work groups) to back it up. real learning and takeaway.

It was an applied session that provided new methods and grounded insight to adjust my approach customers, presentations and 2 minute pitches differently. I liked it so much I’m probably going to take the course again to keep the practice alive!

Andrew was a great instructor and has a gift of teaching with applications and exercises during the class that were interactive, fun, and practical. He was able to explain the relevancy of storytelling across many presentation types and explain how it works across different communication forms. Super informative, thanks Andrew!

I learned more from this single-session class than I ever did during 8/10 session-classes. It was wonderful! Even though it was on a Monday night, Andrew was energetic and motivating. He moved quickly through the information and was a natural and engaging public speaker. He had video examples that he shared with the class that were very helpful—it was great to see the materials actually being used in practice. The class size was smallish (enough to fit around a conference room table), and he divided the class time into instruction and fast-paced storytelling/pitching with partners. I very much plan on taking more of Andrew's classes in the future.

Great class- gave me a new perspective for creating elevator pitches. I’ve taken pitch classes before and the heavy emphasis on storytelling was a welcomed lesson. Instructor was animated (overly so but he said he was highly caffeinated) which for the most part was fine but a bit jarring at times. Finally, I loved the one on one work- though it would have been easier if we were instructed to use the same narrative/story throughout the night. Ie first prompt was “tell a story of ...”, the next prompt “ok now tell another story where...” which caused some confusion. Overall I would recommend

Teacher was great! Really passionate about the topic. Length of class was good (3 hours) and since it was a smaller class we were able to make it more personalized. Some parts of the exercises were unclear but overall I learned some key things that I never knew before.
