What you'll learn in this intro to programming class:

Join us for this workshop on the JavaScript programming language aimed at beginners with little or no prior experience. This workshop provides a full introduction of programming fundamentals using JavaScript to create rich web applications. Building on the foundations you learn, students take a hands-on approach in showing JavaScript's relationship to HTML and CSS to create professional, relevant applications. The primary emphasis of this workshop is on the JavaScript programming language, with secondary emphasis on HTML and CSS.

Prereqs & Preparation
  • Basic HTML experience may be helpful, but is not necessary. 
  • Bring a laptop to class (Mac preferred but not required). 
  • Please download and install Sublime Text. 
If you'd like a bit of a head start, check out Code Academy's JavaScript course. Again, it's optional but it may give you some extra perspective. If you have any additional concerns or questions, please email Andy Tzou prior to class.

School Notes:
For students enrolling in 12 week part time and immersive classes, it is not recommended that you book more than one class simultaneously.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.

    The Introduction to Javascript 2-Day Bootcamp was very good. I came out of the class having a much better understanding of what is involved in front-end development. I feel that I know enough to start experimenting and asking the right questions. We ran out of time to cover all of the material in depth but classes move at different paces depending on who's in the class. Also, being told to brush up on HTML and CSS what have been a nice suggestion.

    I would not recommend this for beginners, it didn't take long before I was completely lost. Most people in the class already had programming experience.

    This class was hard and that is what made it so good. Be prepared to be challenged to think about the solutions for exercises in the class.
