Melanie Kozol earned a M.F.A. at the School of Visual Arts, a B.A. at Connecticut College and studied at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. Using nature as her inspiration, Kozol abstracts the landscape in her watercolors and oil paintings. She shows regularly in New York galleries and is represented by Kathryn Markel Fine Arts in Chelsea and Weber Fine Arts in Scarsdale and Chatham, NY. She is an active participant in the annual SONYA artist studio tours in Brooklyn. Kozol taught Portfolio Preparation for teens at the 92nd Street Y and received an NEA Visual Arts Fellowship. When Melanie is not teaching or painting, she enjoys traveling for inspiration. She lives and works in Brooklyn with her husband and two sons.
