After Workshop: Coiled Basket Weaving

The class was very good. Sophia was very clear and kept circulating the table to make sure we were doing it or helping us make changes. All the people were friendly. The table as a square was user friendly. The supplies were ample. I would go back to another class by Course Horse. And a even a touch of wine - nice! I will probably take a spinning class. I don't want you to use my name but you can take any sentence you want

Please create more macrame and Basket making classes with Sonia Kim. She is a lovely teacher. Future classes I am interested in knowing about are intermediated & advanced macrame, bookbinding and basket making. Thnx

I thought the instructions were spot on. The general discussion was polite and nice when each person had some interesting comments on and off topic and people talked one at a time... however at one point there were two pairs of friends that they were having a grand old time and they were chatting amongst themselves quite loudly and I found that a bit disturbing even for the concentration. I would recommend that the instructor should make clear at the beginning of the class that that is a class and if you just want to have a great time with your buddy there are plenty of Bars in that area for that purpose.

The instructor was delightful and accomplished and very attentive, totally qualified, an asset to the program. The one thing that could have been better was how she positioned her hands when she illustrated how to do a stitch. It was sometimes not possible to see what she was doing if you were on the table side opposite her and couldn't see past her hands to what her fingers were doing. I can't see how it would be physically possible to position herself otherwise, though, unless she showed the procedure twice from both sides of the working space. I would take another course from her, and from Coursehorse, and appreciate the principles I learned from this one. The four students at the table were of varying experience, from some to none (I was a none), and she handled that difference just fine.
