Grayson Earle

Teaches at DCTV

Grayson Earle is one part hip-hop and two parts computer geek. Coding from a young age, he blossomed into a young man with an open source ethos aimed at toppling corporate regimes with cat memes and DDoS attacks sequenced in haiku. Grayson speaks C++, Arduino, Processing, Java/script, CSS, jQuery, MAX/MSP, Pure Data, and abysmal English. He literally has carpal tunnel from programming too much. He's a current MFA candidate at Hunter College and an ITP Camp Fellow transforming electronics destined for the landfill into weird stuff to look at and listen to. He teaches at Hunter, Baruch, and probably some other places (like DCTV)! His favorite pastime is beaming buildings with radical imagery with the Illuminator. He loves lamp.

Really awesome first class to take if you're interested in web development but don't really know where to start and don't feel like throwing down 1k (what seems to be the average rate for these kinds of classes. Grayson is very creative and fun and is a great representation of all the kinds of cool stuff you can do with coding. Class size is very small which is awesome bc you get one on one help. Only reason I gave this a 4 instead of a 5 is that I was DCTV gave an option for a level 2 html/CSS site bc I would really love to continue in a classroom setting and most of the other options are too expensive out there.
