Ronald L. Kuby is an American criminal defense and civil rights lawyer, radio talk show host and TV commentator. He has hosted radio programs on WABC Radio in New York and Air America Radio.  From the time he was expelled from middle school in 1970 for publishing an underground newspaper, until today, Kuby has taken pride in being a general pain in the ass to whatever powers that be.

Shabaka Shakur was imprisoned for more than 27 years for a double murder that he did not commit, due to the fabricated testimony of an NYPD detective. While incarcerated upstate at the Shawagunk Correctional Facility, Shakur spent much of his time in the prison library, earning a college degree and working on his own appeal and those of his fellow inmates.
