Tessa LaNeve

Teaches at Primary Stages ESPA

Tessa LaNeve is the Director of ESPA and New Arts Programming at Primary Stages. She programs the curriculum for over 2,000 student artists in collaboration with over 100 faculty members. She has worked on and Off-Broadway and regionally as a freelance dramaturg with such artists as Tanya Barfield, Terrence McNally, Horton Foote, Tina Howe, Cusi Cram, Brooke Berman, and Martine Zimmerman. She co-produced the 2011 and 2014 New York One-Minute Play Festivals, Cusi Cram’sThe West Village Project, the 2009 Town Hall Discussion on Gender Disparity in Theater, as well as the annual ESPA Drills Reading Series and the monthly Detention Performance Series. She has worked at Williamstown, Geva, and The O'Neill National Playwrights Conference. She teaches Playwriting at ESPA and Dramatic Structure for the Fordham/Primary Stages MFA in Playwriting. She holds a BA from Barnard College and studied Dramaturgy and Script Development at Columbia University’s School of the Arts. Member: Rising Phoenix Rep, LMDA, and The League of Professional Theater Women.
