In recent years, Sashiko-style mending has made a comeback after originally being created during the Edo period of Japan to lengthen the life of kimonos.
Now, people are using it to give their favorite jeans or shirts a little more wear. This class will teach students the basic techniques of this classic repair technique by perfecting our skills through patching a hole in a piece of scrap fabric. Students can then take this sampler of the technique home to use as a reference later when fixing their favorite clothes.
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.
