Middle School Reading Comprehension Essentials: The Play Is the Thing! (Grades 6-8)
Need a little boost in visualizing a story or understanding the information in a textbook?
Through a series of fun and engaging dramatic play readings aloud, students will acquire the reading skills necessary for optimal success in 6th, 7th and 8th grade English. Student engagement will focus on how to bring meaning and life to the words on the page!
The following standards will be the focus of instruction:
- Citing textual evidence to support analysis and inferences drawn from the text.
- Summarizing the text objectively.
- Describing how characters change as a plot moves toward a resolution.
- Comparing and contrasting the reading of a text to listening to or viewing an audio or video of the text.
Remote Learning
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.

Refund Policy
Class Withdrawal
- If you request to withdraw from a class and the request is received by us 4 business days prior to class start date, a credit voucher valid for three(3) years will be granted, less a $20 processing fee.
- Refund requests for excursions and special events must be received no later than 11 full business days before the scheduled excursion or event.
Cancellation
If the College cancels a class for any reason, those pre-registered will be notified by phone and email and payment will be refunded. The school also reserve the right to substitute instructors or reschedule class times if necessary.
