Luxury brands have been a driving force in the ever-shifting fashion industry. Stores, e-commerce websites and pop-up shopping experiences are constantly changing in the retail landscape, as well as the luxury consumer. These luxury brands must capture and keep their target consumer engaged, as well as fulfill their needs with products or services that represent these consumer attitudes, behaviors and overall lifestyle choices. The course, Fashion, Beauty and Luxury Markets in the U.S, develops a students understanding to gain insight of the luxury fashion market in New York City. In order to understand the luxury market and the luxury consumer, students review topics within the realms of Brand Development, Marketing, Merchandising, Social Media Communications, Sales Analysis and Trend Forecasting. Students will be given the opportunity to discover these areas of study in a real-world, hands-on setting through in class lectures, case studies, presentations, guest speakers and a final group project.
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
