What you'll learn in this html class:

In this course you will learn the basics of building a website from scratch using HTML (HyperText Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). We will focus on best practices and how to lay a webpage out, styles, background images, CSS-based navigation, multi-column layouts, forms, uploading files to a server via FTP.

Who Needs to Attend
Anyone who will need to build or manage a website in the near future. This course can be taken using either a Windows or Mac computer. You will need to download several web browsers and a simple text editor such as Notepad on Windows or TextEdit on a Mac. Past that, no special software is needed.

  • Two-Column Layout: Floats and Clearing 
  • More Box Model: Margins & Padding 
Day 3
  • More Practice with CSS 
  • Fine-Tuning Lists, Paragraphs and the Footer 
  • Using Browser Developer Tools 
  • FTP Uploading to a Live Website 
  • Creating a Form 
  • Submitting Form Data to a Server-Side Script
