Interested in becoming an Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) instructor for the American Heart Association? This comprehensive course includes an instructor manual and an online component. You must complete the online portion before attending the in-person class.
Important Prerequisites:
Before enrolling in the ACLS Instructor Course, you must meet all of the following requirements:
- Hold current certification as an experienced BLS instructor
- Maintain current ACLS certification
- Work as a Registered Nurse, Paramedic, Respiratory Therapist, or hold an equivalent or higher level healthcare provider credential
Please bring your online completion certificate with you on the first day of class.
After Completing the Course:
Following the completion of all in-person instruction, you will be required to co-teach multiple ACLS courses to demonstrate and validate your teaching competency. This typically involves approximately 30 hours of co-teaching on average, though the actual requirement may be more or less depending on your experience level and demonstrated teaching ability.
School Notes: All of the courses that we have students sign up for through CourseHorse are skills sessions. Skills sessions require that the student complete an online testing portion through the American Heart Association, that online testing portion is a separate charge from our class fee for facilitating the skills session in the class room.
We offer full provider classes that are all done in class without the need to complete an online test before the class starts.
