NAEMT's Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) course is the first comprehensive EMS education program designed to address assessment and management of the most common medical crises in patients. It employs an innovative, practical "think outside the box" training methodology suitable for all levels of practitioners who are committed to excellent patient care. AMLS welcomes emergency medical technicians, paramedics, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurse anesthetists, and physicians.
The course emphasizes a systematic approach using scene size-up, patient history, interactive group discussion about treatment strategies, and physical examination to methodically evaluate possibilities and probabilities when treating medical emergencies. Participants progress from an initial assessment-based approach to a diagnostic-based approach, enabling them to quickly develop effective treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
AMLS is a sixteen-hour program delivered over two days and includes interactive lectures, teaching stations, and practical evaluation components. Each day features specialized teaching stations that follow and reinforce the associated lectures.

Required Materials: The course textbook is required for this class.
School Notes: All of the courses that we have students sign up for through CourseHorse are skills sessions. Skills sessions require that the student complete an online testing portion through the American Heart Association, that online testing portion is a separate charge from our class fee for facilitating the skills session in the class room.
We offer full provider classes that are all done in class without the need to complete an online test before the class starts.
