Class Description

Description

Building on the foundation of Level 1 "Finding Your Voice," this intermediate stand-up course focuses on refining your comedic voice and identifying your unique comedic niche. By recognizing and leveraging each student's individual strengths, you'll learn to construct polished sets, host shows professionally, and apply proven techniques to strengthen your distinctive voice.

The class provides weekly group workshops where you receive personalized feedback on your material development. If you're ready to deepen your understanding of what makes you funny and want to elevate your performances, this course is designed for you. You'll culminate your training with a performance of your own 10-minute set, marking the beginning of your journey toward creating an independent comedy show.

Prerequisites: You must have completed BCC Level 1 Stand-Up, or you should have taken at least one full-length stand-up course at a major comedy theater such as UCB, PIT, Magnet, Squirrel, Second City, iO, Annoyance, or similar institution. Equivalent prior training or performance experience at this level is also acceptable.

Program note:

Classes may conclude up to 30 minutes earlier than the scheduled time, depending on the total number of students enrolled.
