Organizational maturity levels defined in terms of behavioral patterns, depth of Kanban practices and business outcome
Kanban maturity model architecture
Evolving a fit-for-purpose organization
Cultural values and leadership styles which enable the evolution of organizational agility
Two failure modes of Kanban implementations, aborted start and false summit plateaus, and means to avoid them.
Mapping between KMM and other models and methods such as Lean/TPS, Real World Risk Model, and CMMI.
Advanced Kanban practices for managing services and projects

Learning objectives

For the 3 day course:

Determine the maturity level of the organization they work with in terms of observable behaviors, management practices and business outcome
Define the right approach to lead the organization to the next level
Determine and appropriately implement the Kanban practices that will help the organization deliver better on customer expectations and internal objectives.
Integrate the KMM with other models and methods such as Lean/TPS, CMMI, and Real World Risk Model.

For the 1 day accelerated course:

Understand the breadth of general kanban practices and the depth of specific practices implementing general practices such as Visualize and Limit WIP
Understand the Organizational Maturity Model and the mapping of specific Kanban practices and design patterns
Learn the cultural values and leadership styles which enable evolution of organizational agility
Understand the two failure modes of Kanban implementations: aborted start; and false summit plateaus.
Discover which practices are appropriate at each maturity level to avoid these failure modes
Learn how to use the model to provide a roadmap for improvement and ideas for what to do next to catalyse the next level of evolutionary change and business improvement
Learn the definition of “fit-for-purpose” and understand what it takes to evolve an organization that is fit-for-purpose
Learn how to use KMM together with other models and methods

Prerequisites
This course requires the student to have completed the Kanban Management Professional (KMP) training. Course participants are encouraged to have read the book Kanban Maturity Model by David J. Anderson and Teodora Bozheva.

Please Note: The times of the courses depends on the instructor and we email those specific schedules to the attendees prior to the start of the course. In general the classes start at 9:00am and may go until 7:00pm, M-F.

More than 10 days prior = 80% of course fee

5 to 10 days prior = 50% of course fee

Less than 5 days = no refund provided

If necessary, you will be notified no later than 7 days prior to the event and all registration payments will be refunded promptly. If circumstances require, presenters may be substituted for alternative qualified presenters with equivalent experience.
