What you'll learn in this tour class:

There’s something about riding at night. The sun begins to set, the air cools, the city slowly begins to calm as the day’s work ends and folks head home. Suddenly, the sound of two wheels whirring across pavement is more calming than usual.

The UA crew has known for years that evening rides are the most relaxing and the most fun, so this year we’ve decided to share the experience. Our Bikes at Night tour shows you the city as the sun goes down and the lights come up, focusing on Boston’s beautiful waterfront. See some of Boston’s coolest sights while keeping an eye out for fun restaurants and after-dark hangouts for later in the evening.

This tour covers many hidden gems in South Boston and Boston Harbor, including:
  • The Long Wharf
  • The John Joseph Moakley Federal Courthouse
  • The Boston Tea Party Ship
  • The Black Falcon Cruise Terminal
  • The Boston Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA)
  • The Rose Kennedy Greenway – Boston’s newest public park
  • South Station, Dewey Square, and the Financial District
  • Breathtaking views of the skyline at night!
All of our tours includes an individually-fitted bike, helmet, water, and, of course, a friendly and knowledgeable guide who will lead you on your travels. Come enjoy a quiet evening in Boston the right way – on a bike!

Important Things to Note:

Meeting Place and Check-In Time
  • Please arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of the tour to sign paperwork and be fitted for your bike and helmet. Late arrival may result in your space on tour being given away. If you are unable to attend, please contact us immediately.
  • Boston can be a difficult city to navigate if you are unfamiliar with the area! Leave plenty of time for navigating and plan a route ahead of time
What to Wear
  • Please wear comfortable clothes appropriate for the weather including appropriate footwear - sneakers with good tread are best. Dress in layers for cooler weather or when there is a chance of precipitation.
  • Please do NOT wear skirts, dress shoes, high heels, large purses, or any loose-fitting clothes that could get caught in the bike's chain.
  • Forget something? Colder than you expected? We have a bike shop stocked with quality cycling apparel and accessories - arrive early and we'll get you set up. If you take a tour with us, we offer 20% off apparel and accessories at our shop!
Additional Information
  • While our guides will provide water, you might consider bringing a sports drink or snack. Any luggage, large bags, or bulky jackets can be left at the shop during the tour. We do not allow tandem bikes, burley trailers, or trail-a-bikes on this tour.
