BJ Comerford

Teaches at The Eliot School

BJ Comerford (visual arts/fiber arts/woodworking) is a painter, mixed media artist, printer, costume and set designer. She has taught children and adults at Mother Brook Arts & Community Center (Dedham), Danforth Art (Framingham), Sidman Leventhal Community Center (Newton) and Solomon Schechter Day School (Newton), and says, “Involving students in the creative process is exciting. It is thrilling to see someone discovering a new artistic ability. I try inspire students to think of what they can create with inspiration, imagination and confidence.” For a decade, she was Coordinator of the Allston Arts District, including Allston Open Studios. She holds a BFA in Art History from Boston University, with additional course work at Rhode Island School of Design, Pont-Aven School of Art (Brittany, France) and Massachusetts College of Art & Design.
