Class Description

Description

Bring your camera and join us on this fun-filled safari to one of the best historic picture-taking spots in Washington: the National Gallery of Art’s Sculpture Garden!

Let’s have fun and learn!

If you have a camera or smartphone, join instructor Alain Gutierrez and learn how to use it to take better pictures.

During the workshop you will discover some secrets hidden in your camera, will learn how to use it correctly and decipher the light that is the key to photography.

Taking a photo is not just pressing the button, so in this workshop we will teach you about composition so that you can take better photos of your family, friends, pets or any other topic that interests you. You will discover new angles to take photos and how to achieve magical effects with the use of speed.

Today, photography is part of our daily life – every day we take photos – so we are going to learn to how take even better photos. In the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden, there are many possibilities to take beautiful photos and to surprise us, such as a house that moves as we walk around it, or the Big Thing that nobody knows what it is until you read and discover that it is a typewriter eraser.

We are also going to take photos of that big rabbit sitting on a rock, “The Thinker on the Rock” and play with the light that draws on the Four-Sided Pyramid or the Moondog.

Parents are invited as chaperones and photography models for their children at no charge. It will be a unique opportunity to have fun while we learn and maintain masking and social distance. For kids between 6-11 years old; limit of 6 children.
