  • The Art Institute of Chicago: Badass Bitches Tour

I really enjoyed the class itself and the information Jessamyn gave us. She was very knowledgeable and presented the information in a very animated and interesting way. I personally did not like all the games. I am not very knowledgeable about art and was thrilled with the interesting, fun way it was presented, but felt kind of put on the spot to interpret something I didn't understand or to be thinking about a picture I needed to take while she was talking about something else. I know she didn't mean it that way AT ALL. Nevertheless, the history and the additional pictures she showed us on her iPad and the way she explained everything was enough for me. I would still definitely recommend it to others.

The tour was great! I've been to the Met many times before but it was nice to get a more in-depth view and history behind some artwork I wouldn't have been able to get on my own. Jen was a funny and informative tour guide.
  • Getty Center: Badass Bitches Tour

We enjoyed our tour of the Getty today with Monisha. She was very animated and fun and we learned about the dearth of women artists in the Getty collection among other things. Monisha lifted our spirits after the parking fiasco. The parking was a nightmare; not your fault, but even when we told the parking attendant that we had tickets for a tour, he wouldn't let us in. Finally, after waiting and arguing, the attendant started letting cars in. Our tour started almost a half hour late because people were held up trying to get into the Getty parking lot (once in, there were spaces!) We will not be going there again and I will write the Getty about their appalling parking situation. Let's just say, it put a damper on our enthusiasm for the tour. Thanks for listening. Good luck with the Getty. They have so much money, they don't really care who has problems getting into their parking structure; it makes no difference to them. I hope you find some museums that are more "user friendly."

Desire 1. More actual female artists work. 2. More stories about the origin or creation story of the art would be interesting. Our guide was outstanding in terms of positive energy and tying in her personal and professional relevance to the art! The exercises were terrific at engagement and bonding.

Such a great tour! We had an amazing tour guide (Elizabeth) who gave us a museum experience like we never had before. It was high energy, informative and we learned things we would have otherwise missed out on while experiencing the Met. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to know more about the female influences at the Met or just a great tour in general.

Our tourguide, Kris, was personable, funny, energetic, and perceptive. We enjoyed his "curriculum" to the max and appreciate how he devised the un-tour stories and games so that we would playfully interact with the works he chose, and our attention never flagged. We learned gross, saucy, and gruesome details that are un-forgettable. Our afternoon at the Getty was un-surpassed!
