Discover the Best Korean Classes in Los Angeles

Korean is quickly becoming one of the anchor languages of the American community. Particularly in Los Angeles, the Korean community and language are thriving. Koreatown is west of downtown Los Angeles and south of Hollywood. Once the beating heart of Hollywood's Golden Age, K-Town is now home to a thriving nightlife scene and numerous Korean-owned businesses. Whether you're interested in shopping, cuisine, a day at the spa, or want to explore off the beaten path, there's something for everyone in LA's Korean community.

Why You Should Learn Korean in Los Angeles

Learning Korean is a surefire way to plug into the vibrant culture of K-Town, and there's no better way to learn than through immersion. Language immersion is a bilingual teaching method in which two languages are used simultaneously in learning or instruction. Interaction with native speakers in real-world scenarios is a time-tested method for quick language acquisition.

You can join a group or organization, and LA offers a variety of options for those interested in Korean language and culture. The Korean Cultural Center, The Korea Center: Los Angeles, and the Korean Resource Center are just a few of the many Korean advocacy and cultural education groups based in LA. Plugging into a larger community can have positive effects on one's mood and physical health.

Forge professional and creative connections by attending Korean cultural events or talks. With your new knowledge of Korean, you can take on side hustles or freelance gigs as a translator or teacher. Recent studies show that bilingual workers have a marked advantage over those who are monolingual due to the possibility of translation work and the bridges one can build across the language barrier.

At the end of the day, learning a new language is a fun and intellectually stimulating challenge that can be a hobby or something more – a new path forward professionally. Learning a second language improves creativity and keeps the mind active, so whenever you have a little downtime, you can work on your phrasing and pronunciation or learn new words. A new language can be like a palette of paints and a brush or a set of keys for unopened doors. You get to decide how you will use it.
