Reviews for Sewing & Textile Classes in Los Angeles

Sewing & Textile Classes in Los Angeles are rated 4.6 stars based on 476 verified reviews from actual CourseHorse.com purchasers.

  • Class was very knowledgeable. The teacher was pleasant and helpful
  • Overall I thought the workshop was fun and helpful. I’ve never used a sewing machine so I was worried I was going to have difficulties with the machine, but because they give you a breakdown for using the machine, it was so helpful. I was able to do my own projects after this workshop so I’m glad I tried this class. I do wish they had better prints for the bags but it’s not a big deal.
  • I really enjoyed this class. I learned a lot. I learned to make large straight legged pants into fitted bell bottoms. I even fixed 3 pairs of pants at home on my own. Thank you.
  • I loved it! Sofia was a wonderful teacher! I will definitely go to her for Sewing 2! Sofia was so patient with everyone! The machines worked great. That class size was perfect. Highly recommend.

  • Nice class and location to get to. Was able to finish one scarf project and warp up for a second one. This class really helps to have the encouragement of the teacher while you will make mistakes but have the instruction on how to prevent and fix mistakes. I need the hands on and it helped me a lot.
  • I walked into class clueless about my sewing machine and left confident and knowledgeable about the setup and basic techniques. The instructors are helpful and patient with students as we navigate our first project. Not only that, but everyone gets to take their project home. It was a wonderful first experience.
  • The class was actually super informative. Learned a lot. It was my first sewing class ever and loved it. Both teachers were patient and willing to help and made sure we understood everything . Definitely willl be back
  • Friendly and very patient instructor, big facility with cutting table and sewing machine room. I made a Kimono from choosing fabric, to cutting out a pattern, to sewing and trimming. I was even introduced to a Serger machine for detailed lining finish. As a novice sewer, I was so impressed and satisfied with what I learned, that I will definitely be back for sewing lab or project work.

  • It was a great class. Both Haley and Scarlett were so patient and positive with me which made me feel confident.

  • This was such a great course! Very practical and instructive in getting started in pattern making. I'm definitely a beginner in sewing and I don't really have any experience in patterns but it didn't matter since the course was easy to follow along. It was great leaving with a complete pattern and it turned out more professional than I thought it would. Scarlett and Haley were so patient and kind in their instruction. They really were so great, even with the complicated dress I brought. I would definitely recommend this course and can't wait to try out my pattern!
  • This is a wonderful sewing class! I learned everything from the type of fabric you are working with to using and working with a sewing machine. I would recommend this class for anyone starting out or anyone who wants to enhance the skills they currently have.

I appreciate her input as she is knowledgeable about creating a tapestry you will be happy with as an end result. The environment at The Knitting Tree is sure to motivate your inner artist. Annette, the owner, is also very helpful. The store is beautifully laid out with all kinds of yarns and everything you could possibly need that has to do with fiber arts and more! I highly recommend the classes and the visit to this amazing place!
  • Melissa Walker is such a fantastic teacher. She is incredibly knowledgeable about all things sewing, she's funny, and she made the classes a joy to come to each week.
  • The teacher was very knowledgeable and explained the concepts very clearly. She was patient, funny and told many interesting stories. I think if I bought my own sewing machine I would know how to start using it right away.
  • Loved it. The space and the teacher were both excellent. Wish they sent you home with the loom but other than that, it was fantastic! Would definitely do another class with them!
  • the course was really useful and well organized. The teacher, Ashley Trutanich, was amazing, both as a professional and a human being. She was very clear in explaining everything and always ready to help us, answering all our questions and showing us things as many times as we needed. The only downside was the duration. 2 hours didn't feel enough, 3 would have been perfect. I shared this thought with the other attendants and they agreed. When we moved to practice what Ashley was teaching us, we found ourselves in a rush. So basically we wanted more ^^
  • Sewing Made Easy was a great class. I have some experience with quilting, yet the class presented and reinforced basic sewing skills like basting, running stitch, and backstitch. I learned new stitches for hemming and mending. So the class strengthened and expanded my basic skills. Ashley was excellent about checking in with us to see where we were in terms of pace and if we needed to see something again. The class supplied sewing machines and I was impressed with how a person could show up and really get a good start--and also make a pillow in two classes! That was amazing. Every student had a lovely finished pillow at the end of the last class. Now I'm working on my own pillow project that is more complicated and Sewing Made Easy serves as a source of inspiration.
  • Introduction to Home Sewing Machine

I took an Introduction to Home Sewing Machine class at CourseHorse. I loved the class and the instructor. The machines were all new and the facility was very clean. Overall, it was such a wonderful experience.
  • Great class. Just the refresher I needed. The instructor was great and met everyone where they were in their sewing journey. Highly recommended whether you are just starting out or just needed a reminder of sewing fundamentals.
  • Patty was extremely knowledgeable, welcoming and fun to learn from and work with! I highly recommend taking her classes!!! I loved every moment I was there creating a beautiful work of art!
  • Awesome class and teacher!! Highly recommend for great experience!
  • I'm so happy to have found the knitting class w/ Knitting Tree. The teacher is great & shows helpful tricks for solving anticipated problems & doesn't move forward until you are absolutely confident in the skill. The class is paced for your own speed & the environment is welcoming. So many options for yarn choice & I received education on those types as well. Highly recommended.
  • Annette and Suzy are wonderful teachers. They are so encouraging and their work is inspiring.
  • Very helpful, work at your own pace & they offer drop in instruction. A little slice of heaven.
