Description

This free seminar will help employers comply with the State employment tax laws. This seminar is customized to benefit established businesses, those just getting started and those anticipating going into business. If you have at least one employee, you’re responsible for payroll taxes. The responsibility is great and it is essential that you do things right, because it can be costly if not done properly.

This seminar is free, but registration is required.

Topics to be covered during the seminar include:

California reporting requirements, including forms, employer obligations, reporting, and payment requirements
About independent contractor reporting requirements
Electronic filing and payment requirements and options
Federal payroll reporting requirements, including Forms 940, 941, 1099, W-2, W-4, W-9, and alternative filing.

Presented by: Representatives from the Employment Development Department (EDD) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

Hello, I was genuinely excited for this class and signed up 2 weeks in advance and asked for the day off of work to attend it. When I arrived to the building which I walked to from 2 miles away, not a single student showed up OR the teacher. When I asked the staff they didn't know why and had to call the teacher who sent out no notification, and he said he had an emergency and apparentley didn't any advance notice to students or staff and just didn't show up. I was given a post it with the date for the next time the class is offered ,which I don't see myself attending, after this. Was really looking forward to using your service but this was a huge bummer and waste of a lot of time. Not trying to insult this service, but this was my experience.
