Class Description

Description

Welcoming both male and female participants, knitting is a versatile craft for creating diverse garments and decorative patterns. This class introduces you to various yarn and needle types, fundamental stitching techniques, and essential skills, including casting on, the knit stitch, the purl stitch, and casting off or finishing your work. Upon completing the course, you will have created finished garment pieces of your own design and craftsmanship.

Materials:

  • 1 Skein of Yarn (Select Medium weight #4 or Bulky weight #5)
  • 1 Set of Knitting Needles: Size 5 mm (US 8) or 5.5 mm (US 9)
  • 1 Yarn Sewing Needle for finishing
  • Small Scissors
  • Paper and Writing Instrument for taking notes

Note:

You can locate all materials at Michaels, Joann, and comparable arts and crafts retailers. If you possess different needle sizes and yarn weights at home, you are welcome to bring them to class instead.

As a beginner, concentrating on learning the fundamental techniques and core steps will serve you best. As you progress through the course, your comfort level with your tools and skills will improve, and I will begin recommending specific yarn weights, needle sizes, and additional materials for your next knitting project based on your individual advancement.
