What you'll learn in this knife skills class:

Knives are the essential tool of anyone working in the kitchen, and after this class, you'll know the basics -- how to safely handle and store knives and how to chop, mince, slice and dice like a pro! BYO Knives!

This class will be meeting on Zoom. After purchase, you will receive an email with the class handout with the recipes, ingredients and equipment, as well as the Zoom meeting link.

Ingredient List for this Class:

Mandatory for technique practice:

  • 1-2 large brown onions
  • 2-3 carrots
  • Large peeled russet potato
  • Fresh basil

OPTIONAL Ingredients for Italian Chopped Salad

Produce:

  • Large head of Romaine
  • Small red onion
  • Small head of radicchio, endive or small purple cabbage
  • Pint cherry tomatoes
  • English cucumber
  • 14oz. can garbanzo beans
  • ½ c. grated parmesan or 3-4 slices provolone
  • Pepperoncini (optional)
  • Pitted olives (optional)
  • Optional proteins: salami, prosciutto, grilled poultry
  • 1-2 cups julienned carrots from class
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • Lemon

  • Red wine vinegar
  • Dried Oregano

Remote Learning

This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.

Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.

Classes are non-refundable, but something comes up, you may request a transfer into a different class, provided you give us at least 48 hours notice. We record all classes, so if you do wind up missing a scheduled session, we will be sure to get you the video and recipe.
