Dynasty Podcasts was founded in 2005 as the first ever and longest-running music podcast in the City of Chicago's history, by Chicago music journalist, college educator, and industry event producer Jaime Black.
Over the last decade, Dynasty Podcasts has produced over 500 podcasts, including artist interviews, industry panels, digital media workshops, college speaker sessions, and more. In 2015, Dynasty celebrated its ten year anniversary with a ten hour live stream featuring over 50 guests across the span of the broadcast.

Podcasting 101
This was an excellent course! My colleague and I are looking to start a podcast and had done some reading, but wanted to complete a step-by-step podcasting 101 style course, and this class provided a useful step-by-step introduction. Jaime provided details about equipment, software, and web services to start up a podcast. He also runs through you creating a sample 5-minute podcast with time to practice editing using software. If you’re looking to get going on podcasting, this provides a great overview in a few hours time. My colleague and I came away feeling capable of setting up and launching our podcast, which is what we hoped to get from the class. Jaime covers a lot of material in a brief amount of time and was willing to answer many questions that we had. I recommend bringing a notebook and/or a small laptop or tablet to take notes, as the class had a lot of valuable information, and it is useful to try to collect as much of it as you can for later.
