  Purchased this class for my partner and I for his birthday. Was such a fun and professional experience! Chef Cregg made the room feel comfortable and low stakes, even though sushi feels like a food that could be really tricky to make at home. He also made the class educational, without coming close to the territory of ever feeling boring at all. Ingredients were fresh and the playlist was great! Would definitely recommend.

  Chef Luana’s pasta-making class was an incredible experience! She was so warm and hospitable, making everyone feel right at home. We learned how to make fresh fettuccine and spaghetti from scratch, and she even treated us to a delicious dessert and coffee afterward. You can truly feel her passion for cooking, and I would highly recommend this class to anyone looking for a fun and authentic Italian cooking experience.

  This class and the studio were great. The instructor, Becca, is incredible. She is a skilled ceramicist and instructor. Instruction was well paced and everyone in the class seemed to be having fun, even my husband whom I dragged to take a class with me! This is the second class I’ve taken at Element Art Center (the other was stained glass) and I’d take a class again. Talented instructors in a fun and safe space.

  Our Instructor Robyn's Youtube Content Creation class was well-structured and engaging. She customized her lecture according to her student audience vision of their Youtube channel. She covered a wide range of topics from things to consider when starting a Youtube channel, discovering your niche, brainstorming ideas for a Youtube channel, to equipment needed, to video editing using Capcut, story telling, monetization of Youtube channel, Youtube Studio, Analytics, Marketing considerations. then finally on the last session she did case studies and review of the class participants works. She put a lot of thought into her target audience and tailored her content accordingly. Strongly recommended.

  It's always nice to take a class where you learn something and leave with an object you actually adore and want to display. this class was a great blend of process and product. It is fun to do on your own, but because there's some downtime while you're waiting for materials to solidify, it could be a lot of fun for a group of friends because it allows for a little more interaction.

  I was worried that since my dog is black and white that the stained glass wouldn’t be as nice. Boy was I wrong! The finished product was so cute and beautiful! The instruction was clear and fun to do! Would completely recommend!

  Melissa, our instructor at Los Angeles City College (LACC) for this Serger Basics class, covered the basics to get started with a Serger machine. She explained the principle and steps to thread a Serger machine , and maintenance. She explained how a Serger machine is different from a sewing machine. She used a Husqvarna Viking Serger machine and if you're going to participate in this class using a different brand, then I suggest to at least know the steps on how to thread your Serger machine, since there are subtle differences on threading a brand of Serger machine from another. For example, I used a Brother 1034D machine for the class, and the procedure to thread the lower looper on my machine is different from that of her Viking serger machine. It also helps to use different color thread cone for each thread to help you with pinpointing/troubleshoot tensions on your serger stitches. She showed steps on how to troubleshoot common issues with a four thread Serger stitch and how to adjust tensions to remedy it. She showed how to adjust Differential feed to sew stretch fabric. Now I'm ready to take on more advanced Serger courses both online and in-person.

  Very fun and rewarding evening!! Instruction was clear and it was amazing to see all the different creations come to life. Would recommend as solo, date night or friend experience. Light easy conversation sustained throughout the evening. All around good times :)

  I enjoyed the 5 class session - Hemming at LA City College (LACC). Our instructor Jenine taught different kinds of Hems from standard hem to blind hem, narrow hem, coverstich hem, and jeans hem. The ability to do these Hems are practical skills, which can come in handy when altering new clothes for yourself and family members. It gives you the ability to do hems for free which would cost about $ 85 at the Alteration shop. I plan to take a couple more sewing courses at LACC such as Pattern Making, and Upcycling: The Jeans Tote - on reusing old clothes for new life. I highly recommend taking sewing classes at LACC.

  This was a very positive experience and I'm quite happy with my spoon, especially as a first time carver. The first process is drawing out your spoon on a block of wood before it's cut down a bit, and it was great to see the variety of what everyone came up with. There were ten or so people participating, and the instructor was incredibly helpful and attentive. As the process of carving does take a while, they were also good about trying to engage everyone at tables to chat, though my table didn't need much help, even though most of us were strangers; this definitely works as a solo, date, or group activity. (Not in any way impacting the score, but just something to note: Take parking into account. I didn't see any lots around and needed to find parking at a meter and needed to walk a couple of blocks to reach the class.)

  As someone who has never done pottery before, I found the class to be extremely beginner friendly and supportive. My instructor was able to provide me with 1-on-1 support as needed. I would totally go back and do this again!

  Had a great time doing this class Syd was a great instructor. Took her time explaining and showing us how to do it all. She was patient and hands on from showing us how to hold, squeeze and prepare the piping bag to all the decorating tips and tricks. All who attended the class we also wonderful to chat with and encouraging each other as we moved through projects. Looking forward to taking another of her classes
