What you'll learn in this gardening class:

When choosing plants for your pollinator garden from the many cultivars of native species, have you wondered whether these “Nativars” provide those same pollinator benefits as true natives? Chicago Botanic Garden scientists have the same question.

In this 2-hour session, you’ll learn how you can get involved in the Budburst Nativars citizen science project to help Garden scientists answer that question.  You will learn about plant-pollinator interactions from Garden scientists, spend time practicing making pollinator observations in the Lavin Evaluation Garden (weather permitting), and receive a set of 4 research plants to create your own evaluation Garden at home.

This workshop is generously supported by a private endowment for native habitats restoration.
