This class isn't on the schedule at the moment, but
save it to your Wish List to find out when it comes back!
If you're enrolled in an upcoming date,
this simply means that date has now sold out.
You will need a reliable Internet connection as well as a computer or device with which you can access your virtual class. We recommend you arrive to class 5-10 minutes early to ensure you're able to set up your device and connection.
This class will be held via Zoom unless otherwise specified
This class will explore drawing in the landscape and the issues one might consider when doing so, from the formal to the personal, with a specific emphasis on touch. Each participant will be able to work in a landscape or environment close to them and we will connect via zoom so that we are able to see what we are each doing and discuss it as we work. The goal is that over 8 weeks we produce a body of works that explore the subject and your interests as they evolve.
The class is a 3-hour class so come prepared. You make need something to sit on, a hat, and sun protection as well as nearby amenities (to get a drink, etc). I suggest keeping the materials you use to a minimum. Charcoal is good, and you might want to experiment with different papers, trying drawing papers as well as Bristol and others you may have. As a minimum, I suggest willow charcoal and paper, but pencils, compressed charcoal, eraser, and pastel could also be used. Paper size can vary but should be a minimum of 12 x 10 inches. You might also need a drawing board if you're working with sheets. I will be giving demonstrations as our discussion moves through different issues.
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.
Please note, New York School of the Arts charges a $50 one-time registration fee for students who are new to their school. This is automatically added to the cost of your enrollment (and already included in the price listed on this course).
