I truly enjoyed this class! It was personal and fun! The one issue was with Course Horse...they kept emailing me the class was cancelled. Then the instructor sent me the zoom link just before the class was to start. I really didn't know if there was going to be a class or not right up to the class start time...this was frustrating.

The Preserved Flower Arranging class was wonderful! The instructor shared so much about the different flowers and really walked you through ways to arrange them. The flowers are gorgeous and Petal & Eon was great to work with. Definitely will be looking into more of their workshops in the future!

It was great. The instructor gave us the philosophy and basic tenets behind the arrangement first and explained everything with logic. I think I made a pretty good arrangement thnx to her ! The only thing I would add is if we can be told exactly how many flowers we should get beforehand, that will help. (For context - I used 4 flowers and some greens)

Discover the Best Floral Design Classes Online

Floral design is the art of using flowers and greenery to make eye-catching arrangements. People have been gathering flowers to create gifts and colorful designs for centuries. Flower arrangements are part of nearly every special occasion, like weddings, funerals, anniversaries, and birthdays. If you’d like to learn floral design, this goal is well within your reach. Whether you want to launch a career as a Floral Designer, open a floral shop, or impress your friends with your colorful creations, several courses are available to help you master these creative skills.

Professional Floral Designers work with customers to create appropriate designs for various occasions. For that reason, Floral Designers need a creative mind and expert knowledge of flowers and greenery to make proper recommendations within a customer’s budget. For example, in one day’s work, you could design a floral bouquet for a wedding, a centerpiece for a corporate function, a corsage for a prom, and a cheery arrangement for a hospital patient. In addition, if you hope to open a flower shop, you’ll need to know the ins and outs of purchasing flowers and other products from wholesalers and suppliers and how to run a business.

Why You Should Learn Floral Design Online

Look around your surroundings, and you’re bound to see flowers. Whether it’s red roses on Valentine’s Day, a bright bouquet of tulips in the Spring, or poinsettias during the Winter holidays, gifting and decorating with flowers has been a part of everyday life for centuries. If you want to learn floral design, you can use these skills to launch an exciting career, pick up a fun hobby, or create a lucrative side hustle. Whichever path you choose, there are many reasons why you should delve into the world of floral design.

If you hope to open a business or work in a floral shop, Floral Designers in the U.S. earn around $30,000 to $40,000 annually. Of course, if you start a floral business, your salary could be higher since designing for weddings, funerals, and events can be quite lucrative. Floral design is also a popular side hustle—Etsy alone has nearly 150,000 listings for floral arrangements. You can also use your skills to supplement your income by picking up a part-time job at a local shop, arranging bouquets and performing deliveries.

If you’re looking to learn floral design for fun, enrolling in a floral design class is an excellent activity to do with friends and to meet new people in your area. You can also become part of a larger community by joining local groups or finding a garden club in your area. Another benefit of floral design is that it’s a relatively inexpensive hobby since you can grow flowers in your living space or backyard. You can also enjoy floral design at any age; these relaxing and fun skills will last a lifetime.

If you have a unique vase at home that you can’t quite find a use for, Fleur Elise Bkin has a class for you. What to do with that Vase is a small-group class geared toward all levels. You’ll learn basic floral design principles to help you find just the right look for your special container. Private Online Group Floral Design Classes

Private group online courses and events are an excellent way for companies to bring employees together to team-build and stay connected. Hosting online holiday parties and events became popular during the COVID-19 pandemic, and it continues to be an effective way to help remote workers feel part of a team. Online group courses and events allow coworkers to engage in fun and interactive activities like watercolor painting, game show Bingo, and scavenger hunts—all from the comfort of their homes or office. And it’s not just limited to work. Many families and friends celebrate special occasions by participating in online group activities. So why not bring your friends or coworkers together to learn some floral design skills?

CourseHorse offers online floral design classes for private groups delivered straight to your office, home, or anywhere with an internet connection. For example, your group can learn how to create a beautiful terrarium and explore feng sui in the Virtual Terrarium Workshop. This low-stress class will get your creative juices flowing while you bond with coworkers or friends. You’ll make your own miniature garden in this fun and relaxing class led by an expert instructor. Ultimately, you’ll have a unique creation to display on a shelf or table or hang in your home.

CourseHorse ships all materials to you and each group member, so you register, and they take care of the rest. Items include a glass terrarium, a succulent, reindeer moss, decorative rocks, organic succulent soil, and crystal. Up to 50 people can join this one-hour course, and since life happens, CourseHorse allows you to change your final group count up until a week before the event.

In addition, booking a private group class on CourseHorse is simple. There are no booking fees, and a personal event provider will reach out to introduce themselves, answer any questions, and provide additional helpful details about the course. CourseHorse handles all the details, so you and your group can sit back and enjoy!

CourseHorse also offers customization of your event for a $150 fee. For instance, perhaps you’d like to add a game featuring specific questions or themes or add a second event with all materials included. CourseHorse prefers you use the Zoom platform for your class but can also accommodate Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and Webex. CourseHorse can even run courses and events in person at your home or office. For more information about private group classes, contact CourseHorse.

Online vs. In-Person Floral Design Classes

Now that you’ve decided to learn floral design, the next step is to choose a training format that works for you. If you have time in your schedule and access to in-person courses in your area, face-to-face learning is a quick and effective way to pick up a new skill or hobby. You’ll have immediate access to an expert instructor who can answer questions and provide on-the-spot feedback. In addition, in-person classes allow you to network with other floral enthusiasts in your area, which could lead to new friendships or career opportunities. Finally, most in-person courses provide all the materials you’ll need onsite and an adequate workspace to create your designs.

On the other hand, online learning provides the flexibility to learn from the comfort of your home or anywhere with a reliable internet connection. Imagine eliminating the hassle of a long commute and learning floral design in your kitchen dressed in pajamas! Live online instructors provide a hands-on interactive experience where you can meet other floral fans from afar. In addition, most floral schools will ship course materials right to your door or provide supply lists you can easily purchase online or from a local merchant. Whichever format you choose, you can’t go wrong with learning these valuable skills in a structured course taught by an experienced instructor.

Can I Learn Floral Design for Free Online?

If you’re having trouble fitting online or in-person courses into your schedule or budget, free resources are available online to help get you started. For example, YouTube and other websites feature thousands of floral design tutorials covering beginner to advanced-level topics. In addition, many famous Floral Designers have YouTube channels highlighting their best practices and tips and tricks to help kickstart your learning journey. However, remember that it’s always best to take a formal and structured course with an experienced instructor if you want to launch a serious floral design career. Learning from a live expert who can interact and provide feedback is the fastest and most thorough way to learn these valuable skills and set you on the right career path.
