System Requirements:

You will need a reliable Internet connection as well as a computer or device with which you can access your virtual class. We recommend you arrive to class 5-10 minutes early to ensure you're able to set up your device and connection.
Class Delivery:

Classes will be held online through Microsoft Teams. You will receive an invitation for your class within two days prior to the starting date.

What you'll learn in this basic spanish class:

¡Hola y bienvenidos!

Our language classes are designed for students with little to no background in Spanish, and our engaging, professional, native teachers will guide you every step of the way.

Over the course of 6 weeks, you can expect to learn basic vocabulary and conversational topics, practice Spanish pronunciation, and form sentences using the present tense.

At the end of the 6 weeks, you'll have the option to sign up for additional Spanish lessons to continue your studies.

Our Total Beginner Spanish Group Classes meet online once a week for 90 minutes in Eastern Time on Microsoft Teams.

Textbooks are not included, but we will email you the intro material you'll need for your first class. You may then acquire the book on your own after starting your class.

Remote Learning

This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.

Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.

Refund Policy

  • In order to receive a full refund less 5% cancellation fee, you must do so at least 8 business days before the class start date.
  • Any subsequent withdrawal from a contracted course, for whatever reason, will result in forfeiture of the total cost of enrollment.

If you are in a class and cannot continue, please notify us of your situation as soon as possible so we can work with you to find a solution. We cannot credit you for classes you missed before notifying us or for a class scheduled to occur on the day you contact us.

If you miss a class during a 12-week enrollment, you automatically get a 13th consecutive bonus class added to your enrollment!

If you are unable to attend the 13th consecutive class, you forfeit your make-up lesson. Only the 12-week enrollment comes with a bonus make-up class.

If I take the 12-week course, at what level will I get to? Does it guarantee fluency? Or will I need to take more courses after?

Hi there! The primary focus of this course is the conversation. The approach to learning is a blend between a formal approach focused on grammar and the basic structure of the language ­and an interactive approach geared toward situations that promote verbal interaction among the students while building up vocabulary.

The 12-week session in a group class, teachers will cover: greetings, days of the month, days of the week, seasons, ser & estar (to be), present tense of regular & irregular verbs, their conjugations and usages in a sentence. Students will also be exposed to structural parts of the language such as articles (masculine, feminine, singular & plural) prepositions, conjunctions, pronouns, etc. In case students are familiar with another romance language, teachers may reach past tense.

That said, after 12 weeks students level will be between Beginner I and High Beginners, depending on how further they progress in content. Students should be able to introduced themselves, their professions, family member, basic weather related vocabulary and emotions, however they will not be fluent.

Hi - I am thinking of signing up for 8-week beginners Spanish on March 20th. If I sign up for the 6-week program, can I increase it to 8 or even 12 and just pay the difference after I know whether I can commit to the longer period of time?

Hi! Yes, you can! To reserve a space you need only sign up for the minimum 6 weeks and may upgrade to a longer enrollment by your 2nd class. 12-week enrollments include 1 make-up class (a 13th consecutive class) for a missed lesson. As with all of the school's group classes, once a class is started it will be ongoing with flexible enrollment options.

I love that the classes are small, this was crucial to me getting the attention that I needed from the instructor. Nelson is great, he takes the time to make sure everyone fully understands the lesson!
