Upholstered furniture is a major component in interior decorating and one of the most important elements of comfortable living. This comprehensive course examines all aspects of upholstered furniture as an integral part of interior design.
Throughout the course, you will learn the essential components of upholstered seating and discover how famous interior designers have combined various features to create classic, enduring styles. You will examine the inner workings and construction of upholstered furniture to understand how these elements impact both comfort and longevity. The course explores a wide range of upholstery materials, including various cushion and frame shapes, while also covering finishing touches such as trimming, piping, and decorative pillows that enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of upholstered pieces.
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.
