In this financial analyst program, you'll build basic and intermediate Excel skills, review corporate finance and financial accounting concepts, and construct a comprehensive valuation model for a public company. The program covers core Excel skills, giving you a strong foundation with formulas, functions, PivotTables, and shortcuts. You'll also dive into advanced Excel for financial modeling, learning techniques like Goal Seek, financial functions, shortcuts, and cash flow projection tools. On the finance side, you'll review accounting, corporate finance, and valuation concepts, including enterprise value, financial statement analysis, DCF modeling techniques, and corporate valuation principles.
The program wraps up with financial modeling, where you'll build an integrated three-statement financial model and create a DCF model for a public restaurant company using current financial data. You'll work through company presentations, earnings releases, and financial reports to determine the model drivers and assumptions. Applying valuation principles, you'll derive a value per share and evaluate the equity as a potential investment. Prior knowledge of finance and accounting is helpful but not required, since these topics are covered throughout the program. Attendees will receive a short preparation guide one week before the course begins.
