We created our Portfolio School because time and again we hear design school graduates say they don’t have a portfolio of work they’re confident in. So often, traditional two or four year colleges will teach you the skills, but won’t help you distill and refine your best work into an employable portfolio—that’s where we come in.

This course is designed to help you focus on refining and elevating your work to a stand-out level. Our industry professional instructors will guide you through the most important things to consider when building your portfolio, and help you showcase the depth and breadth of your design skillset and knowledge.

What to expect in Portfolio School:

  1. BUILD 4 Portfolio Projects​: Create and receive multiple rounds of feedback from our expert instructors on 4 new (or existing) portfolio projects.
  2. REFRESH Existing Projects: Inject new life and energy into stale projects and expand smaller projects with large cross-channel deliverables.
  3. WORK ON Real Client Projects​: Get paired with a company to create a new, real-world project. Prove your client-facing skills to potential employers.​
  4. BUILD A UNIQUE Personal Brand​: Build your unique personal brand not just for your job search but also as a foundation for your design career.
  5. BUILD YOUR Custom Website: Build your non-cookie-cutter portfolio website that will land your application in the “hell yeah” pile.
  6. ULTIVATE Career-Ready Skills: Learn to present your work, negotiate salary and manage clients before you even start your first design job.

Portfolio Express is for students who passed our design assessment and already have at least 3-4 full-length portfolio projects but need guidance on polishing their work, personal branding and career strategies.

NOTE:

  • Student gets 8.5 hours of live sessions for 9 weeks.
  • Students have to schedule one 1-hour live session each week, subject to instructor availability.

Remote Learning

This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.

Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.

Refund Policy

In the event that you decide to discontinue or withdraw from the course, you must provide written notice. Our drop-out and refund policies vary by form of financing you elect.

UPFRONT

Please refer to the table below for refund percentages based on when withdrawal occurs:

Enrollment Time / Refund Amount

  • During the 1st week of study: 100%
  • During the 2nd week of study: 50% Refund
  • During the 3rd week of study: 25% Refund
  • After the 3rd week of study: 0% Refund

SPLIT

Refunds for installment agreements are the same as listed above and are based on the total monthly payment submitted.

DEFERRED

You will be entitled to receive a 75% refund of tuition if you withdraw before or upon 25% completion of the course; 
50% refund if you complete more than 25% of the course but less than 50% of the course; 25% refund if you have completed more than 50% but less than 75% of the course. If you have completed more than 75% of the course, you will not receive a refund.
